Post 8 - English language challenges

Image
The truth is a very fruitful, pleasant, and friendly experience, the teachers are very nice and very understanding about our time and opportunities. Although I feel that I did not fully deepen my English, it did give me the confidence to start speaking and writing without fear or embarrassment, I also liked the trust and friendship of my classmates, although I did not really get to know them it is a humble and friendly environment. Blogging is something that has been used in all levels of English, and I feel that it is the only way to learn new words and learn to read fluently, on the other hand, it helps a lot in writing ideas in English. I use English quite a lot, because with my sister sometimes in the evenings we talk in English and sing in English too, so basically, I use it to speak and improve pronunciation and fluency in speaking. The truth is that I feel that my English has improved exponentially after all the English courses, not so much in knowledge but in confidence and...

Post 7 - Changes To My Study Programe

Image
I don't know what kinds of changes could be made in terms of the career program, but to start with I would put more hours of career specific English, that' s to say, English that teaches you, the name of the structures or the specific names of the plans, something more geared towards and for our careers. The workload is something I would greatly reduce, maybe not reduce it, but distribute them in a better way, because whenever the workshop load increases, so does the load of theoretical subjects, then there is a collapse of orders and tests... and that would be solved if the professors would agree. This course lasts 5 or 6 years and I have been studying it for 2 years now. The facilities of the faculty are quite good, but you can always improve and ask for more... although they lend you all the necessary tools, they provide you with electronic equipment and photocopies are cheap... anyway I would like the infrastructure of the university to improve. The teaching methods a...

Post 6 - Time Travel To The Future

Image
If I managed to travel to the future, and if I do I think it will be by chance, I would like to travel to Europe, specifically Ireland, because I feel that it is the cradle of technology and technological advances, so it is very interesting to imagine a future in those countries. On the other hand, I feel that the future is very hopeless, for the sole reason of climate change, the fact that it is estimated that by 2050 the world's water will be almost non-existent. That projects a dystopia-type future, but I am hopeful that something can be done about it. I would like to travel to the year 2055, yes, specifically to the year 2055, why? There is no specific reason, just on a whim I would like to go to that year, and if I could travel twice, it would be to the year 2055 and the year 3000. I would like to stay in that time only if it suits me and, of course, as long as I no longer have any ties to the present, it would be a bit of a shock to know that everyone I once knew is dead or...

Post 5 - My Future Job

Image
To be honest I like to work outdoors but given our career it' s likely that I will end up working in office or from home, which doesn't bother me either, but I like to go out in the field rather than locked up in a cubicle. Of course, I' d like to travel a lot, and I believe that every architect should travel the world, before, during and after his working life, because it' s the only way to really know and learn, it' s not enough just with theory, you have to apply and travel to cities where you can find the things you studied. If you asked me why I started studying architecture a few years ago, I' d say I'm not sure, but now I think I' ve got an answer, and it's that my mind works very well and is perfectly compatible with the career, I'm always wandering and thinking a thousand things and those thousand things converge in an idea, project, or thought that leads me to an idea.

Post 4 - How The Pandemic Have Affected My Studies

Image
The pandemic has affected everyone equally, but in different aspects of our social, academic and work relationships.  It is true that many of us have found it easier to study from home or at least we find that the evaluations and the contents of the classes are easier to learn, also, it is easier to relate to peers when facing them in discussions, debates or presentations, since this "virtual mask" gives us a sense of confidence that perhaps only alcohol gives us hahaha. On the other hand, and I dare say that we have all been affected by this point, the relationship between our peers, of course I'm talking about our peers, has been in difficulties since we can not see each other or relate with the naturalness with which we are all used to, in person face to face. We also know of many cases, in which the study conditions in our homes are not optimal, there is a lot of noise, we have younger siblings who bother us, ask us for favors or send us to do some duties during...

Post 3 - My favorite Music

Image
My favorite genre of music is rap or h ip hop, I like many Spanish-speaking groups, especially Chilean groups, or rappers, Movimiento Original, ChiteMC, BronkoYotte, Liricistas, etc. Generally, it is a genre of revolution or protest music from the point of view of the people, the common people, who live day to day and have a life of effort and somewhat painful. I don't feel very identified with that, but the lyrics and the rhythm have so much content that it really touches your heart. Another of my favorite genres is Reggae, pop, rock, in short... I think I like all musical genres hahaha, it's easier to describe the ones I don't like or I'm not so passionate about, and I think that among those genres is only reggaeton.... I like to listen to it at parties and dance to it, but it's not a genre that makes me want to listen to it every day or in my leisure time, and it's not that I dislike it, I insist on that, but I don't play it even when I'm cleaning...

Post 1 - A country I'd like to visit

Image
The country I' d like to visit with desire is Holland, but specifically the city of Amsterdam. Why? it answers itself, there isn't only a great bohemia in this place, but also there is a lot of culture, art and architecture, among them we can mention, the Amsterdam Canal Belt, the Van Gogh Museum, Moco Museum, the tours to Volendam to visit the tulip fields and mills, and it's necessary to mention the great and connoted Red Light District, where all the drugs I ever tried in my life, are legal, and the truth.... There are many other things, outside of drugs, that are legal and that I would like to try. In the future I' d like to leave Chile, and settle in Holland, although not necessarily in Amsterdam. I' d also like to do a postgraduate degree, preferably a PhD and later work in that country. The opportunities are limited, I know, but the hope of realizing that dream is never gone. A great country to live, study, work and be surrounded by bohemia.
